Scholarship Vetting Process
Our Process
By using grants and donations we will vet and link up athletes to their specific camp or travel ball team. Money will go directly to the camp or travel ball organization in the child’s name. No money will go directly to the families. A strict vetting process will ensure that all funding is getting to the appropriate place.
Step 1
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following baseline requirements.
Be within age range of 7-17
Reside in and be a citizen of the United States.
Meet financial requirements (as determined by application review.)
Step 2
Application Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following baseline requirements.
A completed scholarship application form
Proof of household income
most recent pay stub, tax return, copy of eligibility of free/reduced lunch for school.
Copy of S.N.A.P program acceptance letter
or TANF (Temporary Assistance for needy families.
Proof of Income
It is required that you prove your income and situation. No exceptions.
School
Name, address, phone number of school attending
Team or Camp
Name of camp or travel ball team interested in participating for.
Coach
Travel Ball team coach’s name and phone number.
Step 3
Review Committee:
A scholarship review committee (made up of staff, board members will review applications)
Step 4
Evaluation Factors:
Applications will be scored based on:
Financial need
Priority given to applicants demonstrating limited access to resources.
Commitment & Interest
Applicant shows enthusiasm for participating in sports.
Community/ Family Engagement
Families showing support for their child’s participation. Transportation, attendance etc.
Step 5
Decisions & Notifications:
Timeline
Applicants will be notified within 2-3 weeks if approved
Scholarship
Scholarships awarded may cover full or partial program fees depending on available funds.
Payment
Accepted scholarships will be paid directly to specific camp or travel ball team. No funds go directly to the family.
Step 6
Accountability:
Attendance
Scholarship recipients are expected to attend practices, camp, and games regularly.
Progress
Progress and participation may be reviewed to ensure funds are being used as intended.
Withdrawal
If a participant withdraws, unused funds may be reallocated to another eligible child.
